What is
Tonia Lewis
Tonia Lewis’ dedication to preserving the history of rural Utah began during her tenure at Utah State University’s Special Collections and Archives while earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Photography. Tonia continued her historical preservation work while managing other academic libraries. Tonia now serves as Sevier County Archives and Heritage Services Archivist and Webmaster.
With over twenty years of experience in website design, graphic design, photography, and marketing, Tonia will oversee the design and management of the “History Hub” digital archive website, making Sevier County’s history accessible online.
Tonia is committed to coordinating with state, county, and community entities to gather, preserve, and share local history. Her role includes collaborating with Sevier County Commissioners, the SCAHS Board of Directors, SCAHS Advisory Board, SCAHS History Specialists as well as overseeing public relations efforts.
Tonia also enjoys leading the chase crew as Crew Chief their hot air balloon, "Czech It Out." She loves spending time with her for her husband Josh, the pilot of the hot air balloon and two children Vienna and Rion. She enjoys meeting new people at various balloon festivals in Utah and neighboring states. Tonia currently resides in Salina, Utah.
Archivist
McKay Chamberlain
McKay Chamberlain serves as the Historical Specialist within the Sevier County Archives and Heritage Services organization. Through coordination with local government program managers, McKay leads the training and gathering efforts of local historians in compiling county historical records for future preservation. Ever since a young age, McKay has had a fascination with the discovery of the past and has become enamored with the rich history of the county he has come to call home.
McKay has ten years of dedicated experience running his own business as an Instructional Designer and Developer, specializing in instructor-led training, online learning course design, and video production. He has worked with a range of top clients including Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Goldman Sachs, Elevance Health, L3Harris Communications, and Amazon Web Services. Throughout his career, McKay has been determined to provide a unique perspective to his work by blending technical prowess with creative finesse.
McKay graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Arts in History for Secondary Education and is set to complete a Master's degree in Learning Design and Technologies from Arizona State University.
When he is not involved with his efforts of running his own business or gathering historical information for the county, McKay can often be found serving as an instructor with the South Sevier High and Middle School band programs, as well as teaching private percussion lessons to several students. Additionally, McKay enjoys being out on the golf course and runs a seasonal podcast with friends discussing professional football.
McKay currently resides in Monroe with his wife, Emily, and two children.
